Larry Graham Hale, Sr., 73, of Gaston, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.

Larry was a native of Halifax County, the son of the late Lawrence Graham Hale and Ruby Faust Hale. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Hale.

He was retired from the U. S. Navy and from the San Diego School District in San Diego, CA. Larry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids.

Larry is survived by his two daughters, Susan De Mars and her husband, Chris, of Descanso, CA and Sharon Barnes of Port Orange, FL; his son, Larry Hale, Jr. and his wife,Terri Lynn, of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Matthew Barnes, Julie Barnes, Rachel Pierovich, Samuel Pierovich, Crystal Pearl Hale, Daniel Graham Hale, and Dillon Graham Hale; four great-grandchildren; and his cousin, Eloise Harris and her husband, George, of Roanoke Rapids.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with military honors.
